Once upon a time, in a lush green forest, lived a very proud and scary lion. He was the king, but he was not very nice. He hunted animals all day long, taking more lives than he needed.
The animals were terrified. Finally, they came up with a plan. They went to the lion and promised to send one animal to his den every day for his meal, if he promised not to go hunting and scare everyone. The lion agreed.
One day, it was the small rabbit’s turn to go. The rabbit was not just small; he was very clever. He did not want to be eaten, so he walked slowly, taking his time to think of a plan. He arrived late, making the lion furious with hunger.
“Why are you so late? And you are so small!” roared the lion.
The rabbit bowed low and said, “Oh, King! I was coming with four other rabbits, but a massive, scary lion stopped us. He ate the others and told me to tell you that he is the real king of this forest”.
The lion was furious. “Another king? In my forest? Take me to him!”.
The rabbit led the lion to a deep, dark, old well. “He lives in there, your Majesty,” said the rabbit.
The lion looked down into the well. There, he saw his own reflection in the water. He thought it was the other lion. He roared, and the echo made it sound like the “other lion” was roaring back.
“I will get you!” screamed the lion, and he jumped into the well to fight the other lion.
He fell deep into the water and couldn’t get out. The clever rabbit ran back to the forest and told the other animals that they were safe.
The End.
